what is the process?
How it works is after a complimentary 10-15 minute phone consultation, which gives me an idea of the scope of the project, we set up a time for a consult. Once on site, after filling out a client intake form, and getting to know you a bit better, we walk through your space. This allows me to see how you use your space, address any challenges, ask questions, and also share various ideas and thoughts on how to make positive changes.
How much time should i book?
Can I just book a single hour? How do I know what is the appropriate amount of time? By doing the initial phone consultation the time allotment can be estimated. Many clients book a simple hour-long consult, to ask design/layout questions, or pick colours for fresh paint. This is often all a client needs, but if they need more support, additional time can be booked.
If it’s a larger project, is it a project-based fee?
At Decor Diva we prefer to work on an hourly basis, as advice and the needs that arise tend to change as the project takes on life of its own. Once the client gets rolling they often have gained knowledge that enables them to proceed on their own, however, we are always available to offer support when needed.
What brand of paint do you recommend?
At Decor Diva we use a Benjamin Moore fan deck, to pick colours with clients, however, all paint companies now have the ability to match colours to their own paint products.
Are you affiliated with any brand?
We are not. We feel that the client has to have options when picking paint, furniture, accessories, etc. By getting to know the client we are able to recommend certain products, but if the client has other ideas, or products available to them, that is great. Also, some suppliers will offer a designer discount, so we are able to get you better pricing. Our goal is to get you the best value for your money, regardless if it is for a timeless piece of furniture, or simply for a cute accessory to add a pop of colour or whimsy.
